CARBONALE, Ill. — The City of Carbondale Council continues to seek people interested in serving on a Rental Housing Licensing Planning Committee. The research will provide an important update to current rental housing regulations, according to the city.
A news release from the city said the Rental Housing Licensing Committee will consist of four landlords; four Carbondale tenants, at least one of whom is a full-time Southern Illinois University-Carbondale student living off campus; and one at large citizen. The committee members will serve with two Carbondale City councilpersons and two city staff members.
Anyone interested in serving on the committee should submit a written letter of interest to Mayor Carolin Harvey at charvey@carbondaleil.gov. Applications must include the applicant's name, current address, reason for interest in the committee, and a detailed description of their background or resume. All applications will be kept confidential. Letters of interest must be submitted by Sunday, Sept. 15.
