MURRAY, Ky. -- Another week, another basketball camp tipping off at Murray State. The first of the final two camps of the summer got underway at the CFSB Center Monday morning.

Over 100 kids from ages 7 through 17 were running around the home of the Racers, learning basketball skills from Murray State players and coaches.

It kickstarts a busy week for Racer head coach Steve Prohm and his team as summer workouts are also underway.

"This is a period right now where it's recruiting off campus, it's camp, you've got your kids on campus, so a little bit everywhere right now," Prohm said.

With six newcomers, summer workouts provide an opportunity for the new guys to gel with the returners.

"Their character is really good, their work ethic is really good," Prohm said. "And right now they're just learning and we're trying to teach and get a chemistry really started. And so that's the biggest piece right now."

Prohm and Murray State men's basketball will host one more camp July 15-18. More details can be found here.
