PADUCAH, KY -- Over the last two weeks the McCracken County Mustangs have proved a lot of doubters wrong with back-to-back road playoff wins.

Those wins against Barren County and Henderson County turned heads across the state as the Mustangs finished the regular season 4-6. They will now face Louisville Trinity in the KHSAA 6A State Quarterfinals on Friday night.

"Anytime you can be a part of a team, in any sport, where you can get that mentality of us against the world, it makes you a hard team to handle," head coach Jonathan Smith said. "I think that is what our kids have got. We have been disappointed in ourselves, and some of the things that we have done this year, a couple of the games we felt like we gave away. Our guys have never laid their heads down, never quit fighting, and come to work every day and have a blue collar mentality and that is all you can ask them."

It will be the 4th appearance ever in the state quarterfinals for the Mustangs, who have yet to advance past this round.

Kickoff is set for 7pm ET on Friday night in Louisville.
