CARTERVILLE, IL — The Southern Illinois Coalition for Children and Families announced on Sunday, Sept. 8, that more than 6,000 southern Illinois children are enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program, reaching a significant milestone.
The program provides free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, regardless of family income.
“We are thrilled to see the overwhelming response from families in Southern Illinois,” said the Program Coordinator for the Southern Illinois branch of the Imagination Library. “Reaching over 6,000 children is a testament to the community’s commitment to nurturing a love of reading and supporting the educational growth of our youngest learners.”
The program delivered the first set of books to southern Illinois kids last week.
One parent shared, “When my daughter opened her first book from the Imagination Library, her eyes lit up with excitement. It’s such a wonderful gift, and we are so grateful for this program.”
